FORTY YEARS TOGETHER

We have been living the perfect life since day one.

Where do we start.?

It was a rainy day - That's was our wedding day. October 5th 1984. Barnet Registry Office. For those attended it was the greyest, rainiest day that year. Cars nearly got stuck in floods and we all got soaked.

In December of the same year Jenny was born in Enfield Hospital - nearly had her in the car. Didn't want my seats to get wet so I told Ruth to clench and grin and bear it. - Made it though and one of the happiest days, others being when Anthony and Richard were born, marriage - Id better stop before I get into trouble.

We lived in a "Mobile Home" Caravan on stilts. In Bell Bar Herts, Near Brookmans Park. I was working as a test engineer in the computer repair sector and Ruth was a florist working in a shop in Potters Bar.

We met at school briefly and really got to know each other in Venture Scouts, in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. We moved to Milton Keynes as my work was expanding and Mk was the best place to be at the time. So we moved - Mortgage and commitments (Scary days) With the birth of Anthony (1987) and Richard (1991) our family was complete.

Gary Changed jobs a few times - working in computers and photo copiers, London, oxford and back to MK. Ruth started a Playgroup with a bunch of friends and also did child minding. Also worked in a florist shop in Wolverton.

As most of you know we started our own business - Florist shop in Wolverton (Ruth's Floral Design Studio) in 2004. We closed this in 2021 and now Gary is a Driving Instructor and Ruth was a carer for Jo, Gary's Mum, who sadly past away in 2023. We still live in MK, Currently in Gary's Mums House.

Ruth is the youngest of 3 - Beverly and Colin

Gary is the youngest of two - Julia

We are Grandparents of 5 grandchildren, which we love a lot.
